Palma Small Thorp reproduces the flamed, ikat-style fabrics traditionally produced in France, whose softened patterns most often served for bed linings and for lambrequins — the shaped outer valances of draped beds. Screen printed, it keeps the feathered edges that give flame fabrics their charm: pattern that seems half-dissolved into the weave. It is a modest, historically fluent design that works today exactly where it always did, and well beyond.
