Plissé Plumes combines pleating — Isabelle de Borchgrave's trademark — with the collage technique she loves: feather motifs rearranged like a textile mosaic, the pleats adding depth and rhythm while the collage fragments and recomposes. A tactile, sensory work reminiscent of a rare bird's plumage, each fragment evoking a feather, it is handcrafted in Nepal in knotted stitch, the texture of folded paper conjured through alternating lines of pile and Himalayan wool loops.
