Pierre Frey | Pommes De Pin – Creme

The motif reproduces a Valoise from the beginning of the eighteenth century — a very fine silk cloth, already named in guild by-laws of 1669, fashionable either side of 1700 and prized for an extraordinary sheen that suited the flowers and other motifs worked into it. Le Manach has returned to this document repeatedly, first as a lampas and then as one of the emblematic prints of its collection. Screen-printed by hand.
