Pierre Frey | Pommiers – Noir/blanc

Pommiers shows a Japanese influence in a pattern created around 1937 by Armand-Albert Rateau, one of the great decorators of the first half of the twentieth century. Apple branches handled with that era's particular blend of stylisation and elegance are woven here as an Axminster carpet, giving the design a working life on the floor. It is a page of high decorating history, made walkable.
