Interlocking scales of the kind that formed the mounds beneath eighteenth-century Indian trees of life. Traditional rotary screen printing carries over the artisanal character of Indian block printing, which a cleaner process would lose. The coordinating design is also produced as an embroidery and as a printed panel.
