Primadonna was discovered on a visit to Stockholm: a motif of bird-inhabited trees, printed and hand-painted on eighteenth-century planed paper — a Swedish creation inspired by the Chinese models imported at the time. Fixed with flat-headed nails, à la broquette, it remains in place in the Drottningholm court theatre, the eighteenth-century house beside the Royal Palace often called the Swedish Petit-Versailles.
