Sangay is built on a lovely irregular texture: wool loop pile enhanced with a shining nylon, then partially shaved in a random fashion. The shaving is what brings the surface to life — cut and loop, matt and gleam, alternating without pattern so the rug reads differently from every angle. A textural piece rather than a graphic one, and all the more versatile for it.
