Sedjes pays tribute to the decorative modernity of the Egypt of the Pharaohs, its pattern directly inspired by the collections of the Swiss Egyptologist Gustave Jéquier. The finesse of the small repetitive motif is made possible by the ancestral knowledge of Nepalese hand-knotting, still practised by hand in Kathmandu. Three thousand years of design and a living craft tradition, meeting in a single carpet.
