Pierre Frey | Shannon

Shannon is a fine multicoloured stripe with an irregular rhythm, woven from the textured, flecked yarns that run through the whole of Sequana II. The stripes run parallel to the selvedge on a 7 cm repeat, so used straight off the roll they fall vertically, which suits curtains, the inside backs of chairs and headboards. It is rated to 18,000 rubs: fine for occasional seating and cushions, less so for the main sofa. Neutral is the most versatile of the four; Mint, Sea and Jade bring in soft greens and blues that sit well against Donegal and Kerry.

• Notes: Stripes run parallel to the selvedge. Develops a patina with use. Reinforce seams to prevent fraying. Slight irregularities in the weave are characteristic.
