Shaolin reproduces a nineteenth-century gouache that reflects the Japanese taste of its time, a design preserved in the Maison Pierre Frey archives. The wallpaper is printed with an artisanal silk-effect finish, so the wall takes on the soft lustre of cloth rather than the flatness of paper. A matching fabric is available, allowing walls and windows to carry the same quiet scene.
