For Isabelle de Borchgrave, tearing paper is an essential act — breaking the perfect line is what brings a composition to life. In Soliflore she transforms stripes of colour into lines of landscape and trail, and from that freedom poetry is born. The work is reinvented through traditional Wilton weaving, made in France in Aubusson: a torn-paper gesture, fixed by one of the great carpet crafts.
