Steppe is the transcription into carpet of one of three hand drawings imagined by Guillaume Delvigne for Maison Pierre Frey. Original and unique in form, it plays a looped wool ground against a vegetal silk velvet, the irregularity of the cut velvet achieved through the over-tuft technique. The result has an organic quality that answers, subtly and precisely, the spirit of Delvigne's drawing.
