Sully is entirely carved by hand, its drawing an interpretation of a background taken from one of the House's archives. The curves, in their Braquenié manner, beautifully enhance the finesse of the semi-worsted wool — the carving giving the surface a soft relief that catches light along every line. A rug in which the ornament is literally sculpted into the material.
