In tribute to the working methods of the Maison Braquenié designers, the studio retrieved from the archives a study for a Louis XV style rug in two states — its pencil sketch and its gouache. Talcy Aquarelle renders the gouache version, hand-tufted with a wool pile for the ground and a bamboo pile for the painted areas, so that the layers of the original study survive in the making itself.
