Taurus is a precious damask made quite contemporary by its superb matt linen weft crossing a satin warp. The motif comes from a sixteenth-century Ottoman caftan, recorded in a nineteenth-century gouache in the archives of the Maison, and draws on the traditional benek — three points, symbols of power and strength. Old authority, carried lightly in a thoroughly modern weave.
