Thermidor An II is a low-warp tapestry created by the monk and artist Dom Robert (1907–1997) and woven in 1975 by the Goubely workshop in Aubusson. From walks in the Tarn countryside he gathered thistle bushes, flowering grasses and their endemic butterflies — a midsummer afternoon entire. His iconic hand is faithfully translated into hand-tuft through a wool loop ground raised by exceptionally precise wool pile.
