The basketry weaves and long fringes of Polynesian costume, originally worked in coconut fibre, inspired Tuamotu — an embroidered stripe on linen built from contrast and relief. The embroidery gives the stripe a generous, balanced physicality: bands that stand from the cloth, edges that invite the hand. It is pattern with provenance, carried lightly and made to be touched.
