Pierre Frey | Tullamore

Tullamore is a wide bayadère, a stripe built from rows of small, irregular geometric motifs, woven in Donegal, Ireland from yarn flecked with coloured slubs. The bands run across the width of the cloth, perpendicular to the selvedge, so made up straight it reads as a horizontal stripe: very good wrapped across the seat and back of a long sofa, a bench or a row of cushions. It is rated to 35,000 rubs for daily use, and the 23 cm vertical repeat is generous enough to plan around on a cushion or chair back. Blue and Jade are cool and quiet; Burgundy and Verveine are warmer.

• Notes: Motifs run across the width. Develops a patina with use. Reinforce seams to prevent fraying. Slight irregularities in the weave are characteristic.
