Utopia salutes the psychedelic current of the 1960s — flowers pushed to abstraction, playing on the retina through blurred perception and strong contrast. Printed on a textured loop pile, the rug seems to emerge from a hallucinatory dream; one is not far from the atmosphere Verner Panton created in 1970 with Visiona 2. Underfoot, the effect is immersive rather than insistent, which is its particular cleverness.
