As if painted in ink directly onto its magnificent linen and cotton cloth, Valery presents a large composition drawn freehand, inspired by the stained-glass windows of a chapel on the Opal Coast. The leading of the glass becomes line; the cloth keeps the speed of the hand. It is a fabric of unusual scale and conviction, best hung or stretched where the drawing can run uninterrupted.
