Youth evokes lively energy and a celebration of joy. For the artist it tells a story of transmission — textiles travelling the Silk Road through time, and the kaftans made of magnificent ikats lined with printed cloths, which offered their wearers the chance to present themselves in the best possible light. That doubled generosity, outside and in, is the spirit the fabric carries forward.
