Yutaka is a beautiful jacquard of wool and cotton, flamed and brushed, its vertical and horizontal lines criss-crossing into a deliberately unstructured check. The brushing softens the grid; the flamed yarn keeps it irregular; and the whole reads as a check remembered rather than ruled. It is geometry in a cardigan — orderly at heart, relaxed in manner, and very easy to live with.
