Striato is an embossed vinyl wallcovering, a semi-plain whose pressed, linear grain gives walls the surface of dragged cloth or combed plaster. It is all texture and no motif, which makes it a diplomatic background for art, joinery and stronger patterns nearby. The vinyl is applied by pasting the product in the traditional way, and the embossing is at its best under raking light, where the ribbed surface comes alive.
