Umi is a wide-width bouclé plain from the Elva collection, its looped yarn giving the surface a pebbled, woolly relief that reads as warmth from across the room. The blend runs from polyester and linen through wool and nylon, made partly with recycled yarns, and the cloth is washable — unusual in something this tactile. At three metres wide it curtains without seams, and the texture rewards touch as much as sight.
