Marbled paper is the source: the drifting veins and pooled colour that come from floating pigment on water, here read across a wall. Nothing in it resolves into a motif, which is what makes it work as an all-over. The eye takes movement rather than pattern, and there is no figure to line up at a corner.
Rubelli first wove the design as a jacquard. This is the vinyl on nonwoven version, 70 cm wide in 10-metre rolls with a 53 cm vertical repeat, in three colourways. Certified to EN 13501-1, ASTM E-84 and IMO 5, and tested to EN 12149. Made in Italy.
