Sketched stars, scattered the way they appear over open country, with no constellation order to them. Luke Edward Hall named the design for the Titan of stars, planets and astrology, and the drawing has the slight unevenness of a hand working quickly from the memory of a dark sky.
The interest is in the ground more than the figure. It is a lampas built on a flocked chenille that comes close to a soft velvet, so the stars sit on a surface that absorbs light instead of returning it. That construction also happens to be tough: 63,000 Martindale rubs is a great deal for a decorative cloth, and puts it on a sofa in daily use rather than a chair nobody sits in. 135 cm wide, 41 cm vertical repeat, two colourways, made in Italy.
