Rubelli | Aurum

Forty-four per cent of this cloth is metal. The rest is silk and viscose, and the proportion is the point: the gold is not a highlight running through a weave, it is most of the surface.

Rubelli arrived at it through research into the tiraoro, the Venetian artisans who drew gold into yarn for textiles, clothing and jewellery, and whose telette d'oro were exported from the Renaissance onwards to the wealthiest courts of the West and the East. The weave is produced on what is close to an artisanal basis.

It is offered in one version, 140 cm wide at 450 g. Panels, cushions, a pair of curtains in a room that can carry it. Made in Italy.
