New Zealand wool, spun and twisted in Italy, woven as a twill alongside a chenille yarn. Wool is matt by nature and chenille catches light; setting the two against each other in the same diagonal is what gives the cloth its relief, and how strongly the diagonal shows varies from one colourway to the next.
At 890 g it is a substantial thing, and the performance matches: 65,000 Martindale rubs, contract upholstery certification in the UK, EN 1021 in Europe, Classe 1IM in Italy and IMO 8 for marine. A natural fibre cloth with that kind of resistance is unusual, and it belongs on furniture that gets used properly. Eighteen colourways, 139 cm wide, designed by Formafantasma, made in Italy.
