The embroidery follows the bark of a birch: wavy lines running the length of the cloth, drawn rather than stamped, so the pattern keeps the slight wander of a hand behind it. The ground beneath is transparent and irregular, textured by the slubs that come with linen and are usually treated as a fault. Here they are the point, and they keep the sheer from reading as a flat technical haze.
Linen with polyester and viscose at 135 cm wide, on a 33.5 cm horizontal repeat. It is a decorating cloth for curtains and blinds, and for cushions where the light from a window will pass through it. Formafantasma drew it; it is embroidered in India.
