Rubelli put a heat-shrink yarn in the warp for the first time in this cloth, and the rib on the surface is the result: as the yarn contracts it draws the chenille into raised lines, so the stripe is structural rather than woven in contrast. Run a hand across it and the ridges are obvious. Look at it from across a room and it reads as a plain.
At 780 g and 70,000 Martindale rubs it is built for heavy use, and the palette is unusually deep for a chenille at thirty-three shades. Upholstery, cushions, anything that will be sat on daily. Made in Italy.
