A small tartan, taken from a weave of the Sixties and kept at that scale. The repeat is only 1.5 cm each way, so the intersecting lines read as a vibration of colour rather than as a check anyone could count, and where the lines cross they sit slightly proud of one another, which is where the depth comes from.
It is polypropylene built for outdoor use, with colour fastness of 7 out of 8 to light, 5 out of 5 to sea water and 28,000 Martindale rubs. On a terrace or a poolside chair that means it will still be the colour it was bought in several summers from now. 140 cm wide, made in Italy.
