Blooms abstracted almost to the point of dissolving, gathered into clusters and set in half-light, which is what the name is doing: chiaroscuro models by shadow rather than by outline, and the jacquard builds these flowers out of tonal steps instead of drawing their edges.
The vertical repeat is long at 112 cm, so a full group of flowers appears once in a curtain drop and the design never turns into a small print. Cotton with nylon gives it a silky surface and 44,000 Martindale rubs, which is a great deal for a cloth this decorative; it will take a sofa in a room that is genuinely used.
