Rubelli | Contessa Gold

The same seventeenth-century pattern as Contessa, rewoven with a metallic yarn running through it. Metal thread changes how a design is read: where the plain version depends on colour, this one depends on where light lands, and the figure comes forward and recedes as you move past.

It is heavier at 550 g and the fibre list is longer for it, viscose and cotton with silk, acetate, linen and metal. The 53 by 67.5 cm repeat is unchanged, and a repeat that size costs cloth in the matching, so allow for it when ordering. One colourway only, which is the usual arrangement for a cloth of this kind. Light use, as with the original: curtains, cushions, a panel. 135 cm wide, made in Italy.
