A flamed yarn laid over a solid ground, so that at first glance there seem to be two cloths, a thin canvas sitting on another. In some colourways the two are tone on tone and only the texture shows; in others they contrast and the canvas reads clearly. Either way the surface has relief and is soft to the hand, which a solution-dyed polyester has no business being.
The yarn is dyed in the melt, so it is flame-retardant and UV-stable by constitution rather than by treatment. 20,000 Martindale, and the certification runs to contract upholstery, contract curtains, EN 13501-1 for use on walls, and IMO 8 at sea. Rubelli rate it for heavy use. Twelve colourways, 145 cm wide. Design Formafantasma, made in Italy.
