No attempt has been made to modernise this one. The original is a mid-eighteenth-century brocade and it has been re-created as it was, which in practice means reproducing the number of different weaves the period used inside a single design, and the colour range that went with them. That is the difficult part; the drawing is the easy part.
It is heavy at 640 g, viscose and cotton with silk and a metallic yarn, on a 63 by 35 cm repeat. Rubelli rate it for light use, which in a cloth of this weight means walls, curtains and panels rather than seats. Four colourways, 140 cm wide, made in Italy.
