Figures in eighteenth-century dress, arranged on grass in the middle distance, doing very little. The design belongs to the toile de Jouy tradition of the printed pastoral, and it has been redrawn rather than reproduced. The reference is to painting made out of doors, en plein air, and the composition keeps that even, unstaged light.

Printed on a nonwoven ground, 70 cm wide in 10-metre rolls, with an 86 cm vertical repeat, so the scene resets a little under a metre up the wall. There is one colourway. Certified to EN 13501-1 and ASTM E-84, and tested to EN 12149. Made in Italy.

A toile wants to be read at close range, which suits a dining room, a study or a small sitting room rather better than a large open space.
