Dupion is silk reeled from a double cocoon, and irregularity is inherent to it: slubs where two filaments crossed, thick and thin along the same thread. Woven as a jacquard the unevenness stays visible, and the cloth catches light in broken lines rather than evenly.
The palette is the other reason to know it, thirty shades running from warm neutrals through to strong colour. At 340 g and rated for light use, it is for curtains, blinds and cushions rather than for seating. 135 cm wide, made in Italy.
