Roman floor mosaic, reduced to the tesserae themselves: a geometry of small blocks on a repeat of 3 by 2.8 cm, so from any distance the cloth behaves as a solid and only resolves into pattern close to. That is more or less how a mosaic floor works underfoot.
Viscose and cotton at 340 g, eight colourways, and Rubelli rate it for heavy use. It suits a dining chair or a small seat, where it is seen at the distance it was drawn for. Made in Italy, 135 cm wide.
