The source was a printing block held in Rubelli's historical archive, and what the weavers had to reproduce was not a drawing so much as a metal surface. They did it with a lurex weft, which is why the figure sits on the cloth with a dull sheen rather than the flatness of a print.
It is a brocade of silk and cotton at 135 cm, and the repeat is generous: 53 cm down, 68.8 cm across, so the pattern falls twice over the width of the cloth. At 280 g it is light for its class. Rubelli rates it for light use, which places it on curtains, blinds and cushions rather than on a chair that gets sat in. Made in Italy.
