Metallic yarn worked in relief on a silk ground, so the figure stands off the cloth and reads as lace made out of oxidised metal. The reference is to old wall decoration, the kind that has abraded down to a suggestion of itself, and the design keeps that quality.
It is large in scale, 93 cm down and 67.5 cm across, which is half the 135 cm width, but too open in effect to dominate a room. At 260 g it is light for a brocade, and that is why it takes to curtains as readily as to cushions. Six colourways. Tested to BS5852 for cigarette and to California TB117. Made in Italy.
