It began as a hand-made prototype on the studio loom, a multicolour weave worked out by eye, and Rubelli themselves reach for Anni Albers to describe the process. The finished cloth keeps that quality of a sampler: several colours held in one surface, with a 15 cm repeat that stops it settling into stripe.
Flame-retardant polyester at 700 g, 45,000 Martindale rubs and colour fastness of 7 out of 8 to light. Twelve colourways, and they are not timid ones. Contract-certified for upholstery and curtains in the UK, France, Germany and Italy. Made in Italy.
