Vittorio Zecchin designed a fabric for Rubelli that was shown at the Venice Biennale in 1934, and its subject was a sea of stars. Luca Nichetto found it, kept the density of the original, lost its period manner, and put it into the Carnevale capsule.
Stars work best when there are enough of them to lose count, and at a 54 cm vertical and 67.5 cm horizontal repeat the field is broad enough for that to happen. The certification is the useful part for anyone specifying beyond a private house: M1 in France, B1 in Germany, Classe 1 in Italy, CAL TB117, NFPA 260 and NFPA 701 in the United States, UK contract curtains and upholstery, and IMO 8 for marine. 140 cm wide, 20,000 Martindale rubs, eight colourways, made in Italy.
