Rubelli took a fragment of fabric from a collection of historical plates, broke the pattern apart and put it back together differently. The result behaves like filigree: a fine, continuous mesh with no obvious centre to it.
Silk supplies the shine and several lurex yarns supply the texture, so the surface has more than one kind of gloss in it and the pattern shifts depending on where the light comes from. The repeat is 74 cm down and 69.5 cm across, half the 140 cm width. At 300 g and rated for light use, it belongs on curtains, blinds and cushions. The seven colourways stay mostly pale, which suits a pattern this fine. Made in Italy.
