Trapezoids of cut velvet alternate with trapezoids of longer pile, and because the two are made in different viscoses, one matt and one bright, the surface works on three levels at once: the cotton ground, the cut pile, and the eyelashes of the high pile standing above it.
The name is for Fortunato Depero, and the Futurist comparison is the right one; nothing in this cloth stays still.
