The conceit is wear. A traditional floral has been covered over with metal lamina, and the pattern shows only where the lamina has gone, so the flowers read as something recovered rather than something presented. It came out of Rubelli's own design department rather than the archive.
Silk and viscose with a trace of metallic yarn, 370 g, a 50 cm vertical repeat and a horizontal repeat of 67.5 cm, half the 135 cm width. Nine colourways. Certified to California TB117 and to BS5852 source 0. Rated for light use: curtains, blinds, cushions, and panels where it can be seen closely enough for the trick to work. Made in Italy.
