Rubelli | Grand Amour

A small floral fragment from the archive collection has been enlarged until roses and carnations are a size they never were, and the 106 cm vertical repeat is the consequence: on a curtain drop you will see the design once, perhaps twice. That is the intention.

The ground is elaborate in its own right, an ornamented satin with a second pattern running through the semi-matt viscose, so even the space between the flowers is worked. It is made in one colourway only, which for a design of this scale is a decision rather than a limitation.

135 cm, 510 g, silk and viscose. It wants a wall of curtain, a bed, or one generous piece of upholstery, and very little else in the room arguing with it. Made in Italy.
