A seventeenth-century cloth survives only in fragments, and rather than restore them into one pattern the design arranges them as a patchwork, so what you read is a series of edges: one piece stops, another begins at a different angle.
Shiny and matt areas are set against each other to do the same work a second time, and the light and shade of the original weave is traced rather than copied. The cupro in the mix accounts for the particular liquid gloss on the bright passages. 340 g at 140 cm, with the repeat at 81 cm down and 70 cm across, half the width. Eleven colourways.
