Shantung gets its character from slubs in the yarn, and this sheer borrows the effect without the silk: a plain ground with just enough irregularity to catch light along horizontal lines. There is a pattern, but you have to look for it. At 325 cm a tall window takes it in one railroaded drop, and at 140 g it hangs light.
