A paper lace pattern lies behind the drawing, and the shading of the original has been kept, so the mesh appears to lie at more than one depth. Raised metallic texture over a silk ground finishes the effect: relief is the first thing you notice and colour the second.
The repeat is small for a decorative cloth, 33 cm down by 35 cm across, a quarter of the 135 cm width, which puts it within reach of cushions and small chairs as well as curtains. 290 g, six colourways, rated for light use, and tested to BS5852 for cigarette and to California TB117. The name is Rubelli's own pun on the sociable hour. Made in Italy.
