Eighteenth-century Indian printed florals are the source, and the translation into lampas turns them from flat colour into relief: the pattern stands off the ground far enough that at close range it is readily mistaken for embroidery.
It is an allover, with a short repeat of 39 cm down and 34 cm across, a quarter of the 135 cm width, so it covers a piece evenly with no dominant motif to centre. Silk in the mix with viscose, 360 g. Of the four colourways, one drops the colour altogether and works the pattern white on white, which is a very different fabric from the other three. Rubelli intends it for decoration.
